The team kept its three running backs — Sanders, Kenny Gainwell, and Boston Scott — at 53. Jason Huntley and Kennedy Brooks have been sacked, but look for them on the practice squad.
Meanwhile, the Houston Texans surprisingly released Marlon Mack and he is not eligible for waivers. It’s hard to imagine the Eagles ringing his phone non-stop after the 4 p.m. deadline. The 6-foot, 210-pounder ticks all the boxes, including his three years in Siriani’s system. Mack has started 23 games for Indy, and in 2019 he had 1,091 yards and he had eight touchdowns.
Predictions for a 16-person practice team
There are certain players the Eagles will definitely try to put on their 16-man practice squad. However, these are the names you are likely to be asked for in your next role.
Wide receiver (4): Devon Allen, Deon Kane, John Hightower, Britain Covey
cause: All four players flashed at certain points during training camp and preseason action.and Allen highlight reel touchdownAll of them should be high priority claims except Hightower.
Running back (2): Kennedy Brooks, Jason Huntley
cause: Brooks was the thunderclap to Huntley’s lightning bolt at camp. Both players need to learn how to strengthen their blocks and make more decisive cuts. It can be a high quality backup.
Defensive tackle (2): Kobe Smith, Marvin Wilson
