The Mississippi State Fairgrounds recently unveiled its entertainment line-up, along with new attractions including its largest annual event, the Great American Wild West Show at the Mississippi State Fair. The 163rd Annual Mississippi State Fair will be held October 6-16 at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds. This year’s fair kicks off on Thursday, October 6th at 11am with a ribbon cutting ceremony open to the public at Gate 1 on the corner of Jefferson and Amite streets.

The State Fair continues to grow each year and introduces new activities for 11 days of fun family entertainment. We are taking it in,” said the Agriculture and Commerce Secretary. The Great American Wild West Show runs daily at 5:30pm and 7:15pm, with additional performances at 2pm on weekends. The show takes place at the Mississippi Frontier Village and includes a pig race, a petting zoo, pony rides, a train depot, a rattlesnake show and other activities.
Budweiser’s main stage features four nationally renowned artists: Scotty McCreary, Bob, Midnight Star and Bobby Rush. Admission to the concert is free with regular fair admission. Local artists and bands perform on the main stage throughout the fair.
The Mississippi State Fair Talent Show will return at the 2022 State Fair. The talent show will take place at the Coliseum on Friday, October 7th and his Saturday, October 8th at 6pm. New to this year’s event is the 2022 Little Miss Mississippi State Fair Beauty Pageant on Sunday, October 9th at 9am.
You can still expect the best carnival rides and games, fair food, livestock shows and the Zerbini Family Circus at the fairgrounds. The Mississippi State Fair runs Thursday, October 6 through Sunday, October 16, with admission of $5 per person and parking of $5 per vehicle. Children 6 and under are admitted free of charge. The general public can purchase advance admission tickets at the Coliseum Box Office until 11am on Thursday, October 6th. Admission is free from 11am to 1pm on weekdays, except Columbus Day on Monday 10 October.
